Cañota - A good option near Pça. Espanya (Spain square)
Quimet & Quimet - A little place, but very special, near Paral·lel street.
Bodega Sepúlveda - Very good tapas. More formal.
El Xampanyet - Another special place in the Gothic Area (to be precise in Born, that is a specific area inside Gothic quarter).

Best Paella's places

Kaiku - On the beach. For me the best paella in Barcelona. Closed at night. Better if you book previously.
Chiringuito Escribà - On the beach. One of my favorites, also.
Magatzem del Port - A good one near the Port Vell (harbor)

Another restaurants (Catalan cuisine)

La Fonda España - Best price-quality food in a wonderful modernism place near the Ramblas.
La Biblioteca - Another great place near the Ramblas.
Pla dels Angels - A good and very economic place, very central.
Pla de la Garça - A good and economic place, in the Gothic area (Born).
Bestiari Restaurant - Antoher very good option in the Gothic area (Born).
Café reunión - A good one near Pça. Catalunya (Catalonia square)

Wine's places
La Vinya del Senyor - A fantastic place to take a cup of wine, just in front of Santa Maria del Mar Gothic's church (Born).
Bodega La Palma - In the Gothic area, another special place.

There are other nice places like Pça. Reial (Ramblas) with a lot of restaurants and bars.
Gràcia is an area with a lot of restaurants, bars, and pubs plenty of youth people.
Sant Felip Neri Square

Quite places

In Pça del Rei (Gothic area) a quite place to discover
Pça. Sant Felip Neri (near the Cathedral). My favorite place in city :)

Vermut on Sunday

In Spain there is a tradition to go to "el vermut" on Sunday before lunch time. You can take a beer, a wine, or a vermut (a kind of wine) with some little tapas.

This place is a very good option for the "Vermut",  with jazz live music: La Confiteria
La Confitería

To take a coffee, chocolate, cake, etc.

Pasteleria Escribà Incredible little place in "las Ramblas"
Caelum, delicious!
Petrixol Street, it's a narrow and wonderful street near the Ramblas, with a lot of places to take a good chocolate, for example Granja La Pallaresa or Granja Dulcinea.

At night

I don't know which kind of place you like to go out at night, here you have a little selection:

To take a drink:

Miramelindo  a charming place to take a cocktail in Gothic area (Born)
Casa Almirall, an authentic modernism Bar very central, in Ciutat Vella area.
XIX Bar, the best ginstonics in Barcelona, for sure!
Rosso Bar, at Market Hotel, a charming quite place with terrace, good gintonics, as well.
Milano Cocktail Bar, an elegant place to take the perfect cocktail, near Pça. Catalunya.
Mirablau, best views of the city, from the Tibidabo. You will need to take a taxi, but it is not so far. You can take a drink upstairs or/and dance downstairs.

In Barcelona is in fashion to take a drink in a Hotel Terrace, you can go in without problem. Here you have the best ones:

Al Aire Terrace
(Hotel Condes de Barcelona)
Al Aire - Hotel Condes de Barcelona, in Pg. de Gràcia, a wonderful view of the Pedrera Building from Gaudí.
Terrace from Hotel Duquesa de Cardona, nice views of the harbor.
Wet Bar - Hotel W - called Hotel Vela - fantastic terrace with beach views
Eclipse Bar - Hotel W - called Hotel Vela - great views of the city from the 26th floor.
La Isabela Terrace - Hotel 1898 - in the Ramblas, I love this place.

By the Beach

Carpe Diem (Lounge & Disco)
Opium Mar  (Lounge & Disco)

To dance:

Bikini, local people, 2 kinds of music (salsa and Spanish music in one room and international music in the other)
Luz de Gas, local people, international music, friendly atmosphere.
Hyde Club, local people, House and Soulful music. In this place, near Pg. de Gràcia, you can get a little private space with some champagne or cava space for a little money. Tell me if you want it.
Club Astoria, local people, international and house music in a great place.
Karma, in Pça. Real (near Las Ramblas), international people, all kind of music.
Tarantos, a flamenco place in Pça. Real (near Las Ramblas)
